Subscription and Refund Terms
Last updated: 4 October 2026
This page explains Personal and Business prices, member billing, renewal and refunds. Immediate access does not remove rights the law or your payment seller gives you.
1. The product supplier and payment seller
PageJoy is the seller and supplier of PageJoy PDF, PageJoy Templates and PageJoy Photo. Our website is pagejoy.app. Contact us at support@pagejoy.app.
Paid purchases use Stripe Managed Payments. Stripe is the merchant of record and handles sales tax and VAT for the countries where our paid plans are sold. Your checkout and receipt identify the payment seller as the payment seller identified at checkout and on your receipt. Our company supplies and supports the product. We remain responsible for our product obligations. See our Terms of Service and the purchase terms shown at checkout.
2. Free use and paid plans
Each tool includes 3 free uses per month. No account is needed for your first free website download. From the second free download, you confirm an email on the same page, which creates a free account and transfers your browser count. Both ChatGPT and Claude require a free account before the first use. A free account does not authorise charges.
Personal and Business workspaces use the same stated plan prices. A Business Owner pays for the people on the workspace through one subscription. The monthly price is $4.99 per person.
The stated plan prices are:
| Plan | Price | Paid period |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly | $4.99 per person | One month |
| 24-hour pass | $1.99 | 24 hours |
| Annual | $39.99 | One year |
| First-year offer, when offered to a signed-in user | $29.99 for the first year, then $39.99 a year | One year at a time |
For Business workspaces, the price basis for the 24-hour pass, annual plan and first-year offer, including whether each stated amount is charged per person, is the annual plan is charged per person; teams cannot buy the day pass or use the individual first-year offer. Checkout must show the applicable basis and the total workspace price before the Owner pays. The first-year offer's eligibility and application to additional people form part of that rule.
Business roles are Owner, Member and Viewer. The current member limit is 2. The rule for whether the limit includes the Owner and Viewers is two people in total, including the Owner and every Member or Viewer. Which roles count as a person for billing, including Owner and Viewer treatment, is every role counts as one person, including the Owner and Viewers; the Owner pays for all people together. The member limit and the number of billable people must be shown separately if they differ.
The dollar currency is USD; the same numeric price is also offered in GBP for UK buyers and EUR for supported euro-area countries, with USD for other supported countries. Prices include tax. The checkout shows the currency, total amount payable, applicable tax and any local currency conversion before you pay. The advertised price must include mandatory charges where the law requires them to be included. We do not add a compulsory charge that was hidden from the advertised total.
One use means one finished download, emailed document or returned chat result; a finished photo or PDF batch counts once, and opening, previewing, editing and failed jobs do not count. Paid plan access includes unlimited PDF, Templates and Photo use while paid access is active, plus all 36 Templates designs; Free has 12 designs. The paid features and any limits are described at /plans and in the order summary. The monthly reset for free uses is the first day of each calendar month at 00:00 UTC, with no rollover; website counts transfer from the browser to the confirmed account, and both chats use a free account. The pass starts at the time payment is confirmed and expires after 24 hours. The pass renewal rule is it does not renew.
3. Starting a subscription and repeat payments
The monthly and annual renewal arrangements are monthly and yearly renewal until cancelled, with the next date and amount shown in Billing. Where checkout offers automatic renewal and you actively agree, the plan renews for the stated period until you cancel renewal. The signed-in first-year offer is $29.99 for the first year, then $39.99 a year. Where that offer renews automatically, you can cancel renewal before the later charge.
Before payment, checkout must clearly show the product, total price, billing frequency, date or rule for the next payment, offer duration, later price and cancellation method. You must actively agree to recurring charges before they begin. Your order confirmation provides the applicable terms and cancellation information in a form you can keep. Free use does not authorise a paid subscription.
Stripe uses the payment method selected for authorised renewals. A failed payment does not add paid access. Any retry or further payment request must be shown by your payment seller. We will tell you before restricting access where practicable and required by law. A payment failure does not create a charge you did not agree to.
For a Business workspace, the Owner agrees to and pays the one subscription on behalf of the customer identified in the order. A member does not become personally liable for that subscription merely by joining. The Owner must be authorised to make purchases and manage billable membership for that customer.
The paid quantity must cover every member. Membership changes do not automatically create a mid-period charge, credit or adjustment. The Owner must confirm a revised subscription total before a new charge, including after a change between Personal and Business workspaces. Any additional charge must be clearly explained and authorised before it is incurred. Adding or removing a person does not cancel the whole subscription. Removing a person does not automatically give a refund; statutory rights, the payment seller's terms and any agreed credit rule still apply.
4. Stopping renewal
You can cancel renewal at any time from /account. There is no early cancellation fee. Access continues until the end of the period already paid for. No later renewal payment is due after a cancellation takes effect before that renewal.
If you cannot use the account page, email support@pagejoy.app. Include enough information to find your subscription and say you want to cancel renewal. We will help you complete cancellation. You can also use the order-management route provided on your Stripe, Link or Onelink receipt where available.
We will confirm cancellation, when paid access ends and whether a further payment is due. Keep that confirmation. Deleting our integration from ChatGPT or Claude, closing a browser or stopping use is not the account-page cancellation process. If you clearly tell us you want to cancel, we will not insist on particular words or require you to explain why.
Stopping renewal is different from using a cooling-off right, ending a faulty service or obtaining another legal remedy. Those rights may end access earlier and require a refund.
For a Business workspace, the Owner cancels the subscription. Paid access continues until the end of the paid period unless it ends earlier under a statutory right, lawful suspension or separate membership change. A departing member loses shared access on the next server request, while their personal account remains. Shared documents and activity remain with the workspace; account purge replaces authorship with a former-member identifier. Previously downloaded or cached copies cannot be recalled. A member's departure does not cancel the Owner's subscription.
After the paid period ends, the free allowance applies and existing shared records remain accessible to authorised roles for viewing and export. Cancelling renewal does not delete the workspace or its records. Use Export workspace data to download JSON and save any Templates files or browser backups you need. The Owner can close the Business workspace after paid access ends; contact support for a return, deletion or ownership request. Records remain until the authorised customer deletes them, closes the workspace or completes an applicable account purge. Older records do not expire automatically. Cancellation confirmation explains the applicable dates and any action needed to keep shared work. Payment cancellation, individual account deletion and workspace deletion are separate actions. Account deletion requires a fresh email code and gives you seven days to choose Keep my account before the displayed deadline. This is not a new cooling-off period. Access ends at the deletion deadline or paid end date, whichever comes first. Use Billing or support to confirm payment subscription cancellation; do not wait for a deletion job or assume that removing a plugin stops payment. We explain these effects before you confirm deletion.
A Business Owner must transfer ownership with support or close the workspace before deleting their personal account. Closing requires the paid period to have ended and removes the shared records. No member becomes liable for the subscription merely because the Owner leaves. Shared documents and activity can remain under the business customer's instructions until the workspace closes, with former-member identifiers minimised. Inactive hashed request-limit keys follow their separate retention rules. Personal receipts and account security records are removed at account purge; Stripe retains its own records under separate legal duties. Keeping a payment record does not authorise a new charge. Deletion and renewal cancellation do not remove statutory refunds, fault remedies or any more favourable payment-seller right.
The Terms of Service, Privacy Notice and Data Processing Addendum explain the relevant ownership, authority and data rights.
5. Renewal notices and price changes
Required notices must explain what will renew, the amount and date of the charge, any offer ending and how to cancel. They must be delivered when your local law requires them and in a form you can keep.
A price change affects future periods only. We will give the notice and obtain the consent required by law before applying it. You may cancel renewal before the changed charge. We will not change the cost of a period already paid for.
For US internet subscriptions, the Restore Online Shoppers' Confidence Act requires material disclosures, express informed consent and simple ways to stop repeat charges. State laws can add duties. 15 USC 8403.
For California customers, we apply the required renewal disclosures, consent, reminders and online cancellation protections. These include a notice 15 to 45 days before an annual renewal and a notice 7 to 30 days before a fee change. Consent verification must be kept for at least three years or one year after termination, whichever is longer. California Business and Professions Code, section 17602.
6. UK cooling-off cancellation
If you are a UK consumer buying online, the usual cooling-off period ends 14 days after the day the contract is made. You do not need a reason. This applies separately from stopping renewal. Missing required cancellation information can extend the period.
Email support@pagejoy.app or use /legal/contact with a clear statement that you are cancelling the purchase. Sending the statement before the deadline is sufficient. The form in section 13 is optional. Refunds are made without undue delay and within 14 days of notice, using the original payment method unless you expressly agree otherwise, without a refund fee. These rules come from the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, regulations 29 to 34. Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.
Immediate access needs the separate choice described in section 8. Starting an ongoing service does not by itself end the cooling-off right. Fault and other mandatory remedies remain available even if a cooling-off exception applies.
7. EU and EEA cooling-off withdrawal
EU consumer law generally gives 14 days to withdraw from an online service or non-physical digital-content contract, starting with contract conclusion. Local implementing law determines the precise rule. Services requested early and digital content supplied early have different conditions. The distinctions in section 8 apply, subject to any stronger local protection. Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU, Articles 9 to 16.
You can make a clear withdrawal statement by email, post or the withdrawal function at /legal/contact. Where applicable, the online function remains readily visible and accessible during your withdrawal period. It lets you identify the contract, confirm withdrawal and choose an electronic address for confirmation. We send an acknowledgement that you can keep, including the statement and its submission date and time. This implements local rules based on Article 11a, added by Directive (EU) 2023/2673. The Directive requires national measures to apply from 19 June 2026. Directive (EU) 2023/2673, Articles 1 and 2.
A required withdrawal refund is made without undue delay and within the applicable legal deadline, normally 14 days, by the original payment method unless you expressly agree otherwise, with no refund fee.
8. Your separate choice about immediate access
The product may include a service, digital content or both. Classification depends on what is supplied. A Stripe tax category does not decide cancellation classification. Until the classification and checkout are approved, we will not rely on a blanket statement that all online software loses cancellation rights on first use.
For a service starting within the cooling-off period, the checkout must ask for an express request to start early. The choice is:
I ask for my service to start now. If I cancel during the cooling-off period, a lawful proportionate charge may apply for the service supplied before cancellation. I lose the cooling-off right only if the service has been fully performed and the legal conditions are met.
For UK services, a proportionate charge requires the early-start request and the required prior information. It is based on the agreed total price, or market value if that price is excessive. Full performance, the early-start request and acknowledgement are needed to end the right. An ongoing subscription is not fully performed merely because you first use it. We cannot charge for cooling-off service supply where the required request or information was missing. Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, regulation 36.
For digital content not supplied on a physical medium, the checkout may use a different choice only if that classification is correct:
I expressly agree to the supply of the identified digital content starting now, before the cooling-off period ends. I understand that my statutory cooling-off right for that content ends when supply starts, if the legal conditions are met.
The consent, acknowledgement and required confirmation must be obtained and recorded before relying on this exception. Merely accepting general terms, paying or opening a tool is not enough. If the required consent, acknowledgement or confirmation is missing, we cannot charge for digital content supplied during a statutory cancellation period when you cancel under that right. Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, regulation 37.
Both choices must be active choices, clearly explained and not preselected. They concern cooling-off rights only. You keep remedies for faults and any more favourable payment seller rights. The arrangement if you do not request immediate supply is if you do not confirm immediate access, checkout does not proceed and no payment is made. Free use remains available. We do not schedule delayed paid activation.
9. Rights provided by Stripe, Link or Onelink
The current Link and Onelink purchase terms provide UK and EU consumers with a 14-day cooling-off route from receiving access or delivery. That may give you a right additional to the statutory rules above. Their refund policy takes priority where it is more favourable than ours. We will not rely on our terms to narrow that right. Onelink Purchase Terms, Link Purchase Terms.
The payment seller support route is the order-support link on your receipt, or /legal/contact if you cannot access it. You can also contact us at support@pagejoy.app. A payment seller's operational refund window does not shorten a legal claim period.
10. Faults, missing access and mandatory remedies
Tell us at support@pagejoy.app if paid access is missing, a feature does not match its description or a result suggests a fault. We will investigate and provide the remedy required by law. Do not send unnecessary personal or confidential files with the report.
In the UK, the Consumer Rights Act 2015 protects paid digital content and services. Depending on the failure, remedies include repair, replacement, repeat performance or a price reduction, which can be a full refund. These rights do not end with the cooling-off period. Consumer Rights Act 2015, sections 34 to 47 and 49 to 57.
In the EU, local laws implementing Directive (EU) 2019/770 give remedies for digital content or services that are not supplied or do not conform. They also govern required updates, price reductions and ending the contract. Directive (EU) 2019/770, Articles 13 to 18.
In Australia, the Australian Consumer Law in Schedule 2 to the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 protects qualifying purchases, including some business purchases. A major service failure can entitle you to cancel and obtain a refund for the part not properly supplied, or keep the service at a reduced price. Other compensation may be available. A minor problem must be fixed within a reasonable time or further remedies may arise. The law cannot be displaced by a no-refunds policy. ACCC guidance on remedies.
In the US, applicable state and federal consumer rights remain available. In Canada, provincial and territorial consumer law may give cancellation or refund rights for missing disclosures, missing contract copies, misleading practices or non-performance. In Ontario, internet-agreement cancellation protections may apply where statutory conditions and value thresholds are met. Ontario Consumer Protection Act 2002, sections 37 to 40.
11. Other refunds and other countries
Stopping renewal does not normally give a refund for the remaining paid period merely because you stop using the tools. This rule applies only after considering cooling-off rights, faults, missing access, price or product changes, the payment seller's terms and all other mandatory rights.
There is no additional guaranteed refund period beyond the rights above. We assess duplicate or accidental-charge requests individually without reducing statutory or payment-seller rights. We honour any refund promise made before your purchase and do not require store credit where a cash refund is legally due.
For every other country where a paid plan is offered, your mandatory local consumer rights apply. If local law gives a longer cancellation period, a different remedy, a required notice or a stronger right, we will apply it. Country availability is the supported-country list: CM EG GH KE NG UG ZA ZM ZW AM AU AZ BN GE HK ID IL IN JP KG KR KW KZ LA MO MY NP NZ PH QA SA SG TH TJ TR TW VN AL BY CH GB GI IS LI MD NO RS UA AT BE BG CY CZ DE DK EE ES FI FR GR HR HU IE IT LT LU LV MT NL PL PT RO SE SI SK BB BM KY MX VG CA US. Codes use ISO 3166-1 alpha-2. Paid purchases in Serbia are unavailable. Checkout must confirm availability before you pay.
12. UK subscription-law changes
The Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 contains a new subscription-contract regime. The official government response published on 2 April 2026 anticipates commencement in spring 2027. The planned rules include further reminders, easier exit and renewal cooling-off rights. These prospective rules must not be described as already governing purchases on 2 October 2026. Department for Business and Trade response.
13. Optional cancellation form
You may use this form, or any clear statement. Only complete it if you want to cancel a purchase under a cooling-off right. Stopping renewal through the account page remains available separately.
